THE C-LEAF HARVESTING METHOD ©
Over the years, we have devised a method on collecting these leaves. As we also use these leaves for our own farms, our strict quality control measures have demanded that we harvest only the best leaves. The following are our harvesting system and criteria;
1) We harvest leaves only from isolated beaches and rivers – This is so because leaves coming from these area contains salt and other natural minerals which are beneficial to aquarium waters.
2) Only Pesticide-free compounds are used for harvesting.
3) We pick leaves only from the 1st or 2nd layer of litter – This ensures the freshness of the dropped leaves. Litters from the 3rd layer tend to be older. Most of the leaves from these layers tend to have lost their beneficial properties and contains more bacteria.
4) We do not harvest leaves that are straight from the tree. Only natural fallen leaves from the ground are chosen. No green leaves are picked because these leaves will rot and pollute the aquarium water.
5) At this quarantine stage, we isolate new leaves and throw away 80-90% of these leaves upon checking them because we want only the highest quality leaves.

6) These leaves are then sent for disinfecting and natural sun-drying. Our high-tech disinfecting system removes harmful bacteria and chemicals. We also guarantee that the leaves’ beneficial properties are intact and fully functional.
7) Remaining leaves go for a second round of cleaning – air cleaning and UV treatment to further remove possible external harmful organisms. Once again, our air cleaning and UV systems does not remove beneficial properties from its leaves.
8) All our leaves go for our in-house laboratory testing and screening. We do this to check on inconsistent internal properties and potential harmful viral or bacterial organisms. We also check for consistency in beneficial properties. Although unlikely, leaves that we have found to have little or no good use left will be removed. At this stage, we normally throw away another 60-70%.
9) At the last stage, another 20 - 30% of the remaining leaves are then filtered and thrown away as they do not meet our requirements on overall appearance and being A – A+ export grade.
10) Any leaves that have been unused or unsold within 2 weeks are being thrown away as well. This is to maintain the freshness of our leaves.
